a baking state of mind

coconut_oil_chocchip_cookies

I’ve really been in the baking mood lately and today seems like the perfect day. It’s a little rainy here this morning, so maybe it will not be so crazy to turn on a hot oven this evening to bake up some treats. I usually get in big baking moods in the fall and winter, but very rarely does it happen in late spring’s (feels like summer) hot steamy weather. (P.S., why don’t they just make Memorial Day the first day of summer and get it over with?)

I’ve rounded up a handful of food porn here from my sweet tooth board as inspiration. I’m wondering what you’ve been baking lately? If you have something that I should definitely try, please let me know in the comments. Have a sweet day. ♥c

  1. Mmmmmmm. All that looks goooooooood.

I made these the other day. Delicious, and fairly virtuous. Almond Date Breakfast Bars. Except I used walnuts instead of almonds. I LOVE walnuts and buy them in giant bags at Costco. Also, some comments mentioned that they’re a little crumbly, so I added an egg to the liquid, and that held them together nicely. They were super good, pretty healthy, and great for a grab-and-go breakfast. Will definitely make again!
