[guest post!] the glitterati

I’m so excited to have my über spicy fashionista friend Rachel guest-posting today! She is ever-adorned with a yummy array of delish shoes, dazzling accessories and shimmering nail polish and I’ve never seen her looking less than fab. Have a lovely day and enjoy the post. I think you’re going to love it! xo♥c

Like most girls, I learned at an early age the joy of nail polish. So many colors to choose from and so many ways to express yourself. Between OPI and Essie, I keep myself stocked with a color for every mood. I can’t say no to my default, a classic red.

It is so chic and fits every occasion. Except when you’re doing a lot of paper work. It leaves marks on EVERYTHING. Every fall, I find myself drooling when I see the ads for the new fall colors. The deep hues of browns, golds, and blues set my heart on fire. Ah I love the rich colors that reflect the beautiful colors of the changing leaves.

But just as quickly, I’m over all the dreary colors of fall because they remind me of the lack of sunshine and warmth. Ah, and the springtime comes and I’m back in the saddle. Along come the springtime magazines reminding me that it will soon be here, if I just believe. All the pastels and floral revive life into my winter heart and I’m ready to change. All the vibrant pinks, reds and shades of orange bloom like bouquets of joy. Don’t forget the pastels. I cannot say no to a luscious lavender (I’ve broken one and lost another, RIP) or robins egg blue.

I realize I have ranted for a while now, so let me get to my point.

This is my lifeline. It’s a new addition to my life, about 4 months old, and I don’t know how I survived without it before. All my nail polish, most of my jewelry, and all my makeup make for the highlight of my room (besides my scrumptious bed, obviously). But we are here to address the center left portion. The nail polish. It is an addiction, I’ll admit it. It’s so affordable and the best way to add a little flair to our day without wearing a crazy hat or hot orange lipstick.

Today I am feeling one of my new favorite colors. Bobbing for baubles. It’s a delicious navy blue that I simply cannot get enough of.

But I have recently found its new best friend …

These little puppies are the best way to jazz up any color. I was perusing Sephora before Christmas and found these gems. They make many different colors, gold, bronze silver, red, multi, and more. I wanted them all, found the bronze and gold to be most appealing. So naturally, I bought them both. Instantly, I was in love.

Today I combined it with bobbing for baubles and am very pleased with the effect. I love everything about it. It’s like tiny disco balls on your fingers and there is nothing better than that. When you’re feeling a bit blue, nothing makes you happier than GLITTER. Ok well maybe a cocktail, but again, that’s beside the point. So now I am ever faithful to these little nuggets of joy and I hope you all now feel the same. Now drop everything and take that sweet booty out and grab you some.

Xoxo
Rachel
